What is Hypnotherapy?

I’d like to take the mystery out of this for you. There are many negative stories around Hypnosis, everything from “you’re allowing someone to control your mind” to “it’s all Woo Woo!” Guess what? It’s absolutely neither of these.

What it actually is is a really useful way of making positive changes to negative beliefs, it’s as simple as that and guess what? you already do it yourself, every day, yes every day, because each and every day we naturally enter varying states of hypnosis. If you have ever noticed yourself coming back from a daydream without even realising that you had drifted off then you have been in a self-induced hypnotic trance state.
Have you ever driven your car and arrived at your destination wondering how on earth you did? This is also a trance state, your conscious mind was drifting whilst your unconscious mind took over, you got there safely and would have easily awakened to any dangers should you have needed to.

It is a perfectly natural state and in fact some of the world’s best ideas and inventions have come about in just such a relaxed state and this is exactly how hypnotherapy works.

Imagine drifting into a lovely relaxed dreamy state, you quite simply relax allow your conscious mind to take a break, listen to my voice as I guide you on a visual journey. I will make some really useful suggestions and because you are always aware and in control you always have the ability to accept or reject suggestions I give you. It’s really that simple, relaxing and rejuevenating.

Habits, fears and behaviours are often learned responses from past events including Post Traumatic Stress. Many and varying situations in life will leave a lasting impression, whilst this is quite natural and normal there are times when this is not always good or helpful.
These responses are learned in the conscious or aware mind and then later stored in the unconscious mind and act as a behaviour loop that keeps playing long after it has served any useful purpose.

Doesn’t it makes sense then to relax the conscious mind in order to access and change these old outdated and unhelpful responses. In my Holistic practice I will also offer other beneficial therapies and coaching tools to support your progress. So don’t wait, set yourself free!

Smoking cessation therapy is given over 2 sessions with a follow up session after 4 weeks. Total cost of this therapy is £250

Fees

  • The first session including your consultation and first treatment is £80 allow approx’ 90 minutes.
  • Each session thereafter will last last for up to an hour and costs £60.
  • Discounted rates for children or people in receipt of benefits, please ask.
  • Late cancellation fees apply (24 hours notice required or full payment will be charged).
